Republicans hold picnic, LePage attends
The Lincoln County Republican Committee held a good old Great American Picnic Aug. 22 with food aplenty and fellowship galore.
After filling our plates with delicious food, we heard from former Governor Paul LePage. He regaled us with great hope for our state and our country. That we need only to do our civic duty and vote on Nov. 3 to keep the good times going. He was met with cheers and much applause as he shared his ideas for the state of Maine. Susan Collins was unable to attend but he spoke very highly of her great work in Washington, representing Mainers and our country.
LePage was followed by Dr. Jay Allen, running for U.S. House; Dana Dow, running for state Senate District 13; Richard Bradstreet, House District 80; Jeff Hanley, HD 87; Jeff Pierce, HD 53; Merle Parise, HD 90; Lowell Wallace, HD 91; and Michael Lemelin, HD 88. All were received with great enthusiasm. Flag wavers holding court along Route One were also very well received. We ended with a raffle and wonderful sing-along of patriotic songs of Americana.
