Coastal Rivers offers online program on wild edibles
This region of Midcoast Maine features a wealth of wild edible plants. From 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, Sarah Gladu of Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust will lead a workshop on edible greens, bark, berries, and tubers that can be found in the area.
Using the Zoom platform, participants will follow along as Gladu points out plants in their natural setting at Coastal Rivers Salt Bay Farm. In addition to sharing information about plant identification and what parts to eat, Gladu will offer some basic recipes.
Gladu will also provide a map of plant locations so participants who live locally can visit the marked plants on their own and become more familiar with them.
The event is free. Registration is required online at coastalrivers.org/events.
