Judith Louise “Judy” Jones, 71, of Wiscasset passed on Sept. 1, 2020 surrounded by family in the loving care of hospice at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Judy was born Nov. 4, 1948 in Bath, Maine to Glenwood (Roy) Lamson and Dorothy (Dot) Lamson. She graduated Wiscasset High School in 1968.

Judy owned and operated her own daycare at her home in Wiscasset for over 35 years. She helped raise hundreds of local children who all loved “their Judy.” She was an avid gardener and horseback rider. Judy loved time spent with family and friends, especially at her camp on Lower Wilson Pond in Greenville, Maine, where she enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, hiking and the occasional moose safari.

Judy was predeceased by her parents Glenwood (Roy) Lamson and Dorothy (Dot) Lamson of Wiscasset.

Surviving her are her daughter, Louise “Lulu” Jones and husband Dan Davis of Eliot, Maine; grandson, Rory Davis of Portland; brother, Don Lamson and wife Dot Lamson of Wiscasset; sister, Deb Wills and husband Kenny Wills of Wiscasset; sister, Jessie Boyle and husband Jay of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister, Sandra Lewis Stout and husband Charley of Jacksonville, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Judy’s family finds comfort in knowing that she is free of the cancer she fought for the last two years. They are grateful to all the caregivers who have helped her through this journey.

We will be having a private celebration of life with family due to COVID-19.
