Author friends celebrate new books
Two local Maine authors met at a local pub, King Eiders in Damariscotta, to exchange their newest publications.
Laurie Apgar Chandler, from Newcastle, just published her second book “Through Woods and Waters,” the story of her solo journey to Maine’s new National Monument. This book follows her first book, “Upwards: The Story of the First Woman to Solo Thru-Paddle the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.”
Deborah Walder, from Jefferson, just published her first children’s book, “Ice Critters.” You know that Ireland has their leprechauns, but did you know that Maine has their Ice Critters?” As the Ice fishing houses appear on the lakes and the rivers, this is the perfect time to experience the magic of the Ice Cities and their Critters.
The two authors first met at Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta working in the special education field 20 years ago. They now also share the joy of putting their stories into your hands.
Both authors published through Maine Authors Publishing, a small press in Thomaston.
Their books can be purchased at Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Store in Boothbay, or be ordered at www.maineauthorspublishon.com, or through their individual websites: www.laurieachandler.com or www.deborahwalder.com
