Terrance J. Quinn
Terrance John Quinn, 76, passed away May 4, 2021 after a battle with cancer. He was a resident of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
Terry was born Nov. 28, 1944 in Naugatuck, Connecticut to Marion and John Quinn. He married his love, Donna Quinn Nov. 29, 1969.
Terry's passion was his family. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandpa. More than anything he treasured and embraced time with his family. He had a talent for always making those around him laugh especially during “happy hour,” his favorite time of the day. He was a longtime volunteer football coach for the Merrimack Cardinals throughout the 1980s and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and dance performances. He also loved helping out his friends by mowing lawns and doing odd jobs for his friends and neighbors in Boothbay Harbor.
Terry retired from a 30-year teaching career in 1997. He taught accounting and math at Manchester Memorial High School. He was also an adjunct professor at New Hampshire College and in the New Hampshire Community College System. He also ran a summer work program for at-risk teenagers living in Southern New Hampshire. It gives his family great comfort to think about all the young people he positively impacted through his many dedicated years teaching and coaching.
Terry is survived by his loving wife Donna of Merrimack, N.H. and Boothbay Harbor; his sister, Pat Quinn of Harwich, Massachusetts; children, Matthew Quinn of Dudley, Mass. and Maureen Quinn Greene of Amherst, N.H.; daughter-in-law, Hannah Windover, and son-in-law, Nick Greene. He will be sorely missed by his grandchildren, Molly, Ethan, Eliza and Aiden Quinn as well as Riley and Anna Greene.
All who loved him will never forget his tenacity, wit, charm and love of life.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held in lieu of a service. Gifts of remembrance should be made to the Elliot Hospital Cancer Center.
