William J. LeConte
William Joshua LeConte, 46, died at home of unknown causes on May 17, 2021.
BJ is the son of Toby LeConte of Boothbay and the brother of Ronda and Brenda LeConte. He lived with his special life partner, Angela Grant of Gardiner, and was the Superman of his son Dakota Joshua LeConte with whom he shared the same birthday.
He will be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles Beverly and Murray Fletcher, Kathy King, Lisa and John Mazziotti, Michael and Beverly LeConte and Joel Hawkes. His Pappy, Paul LeConte, and his family members Sean, Chris, Ashley, John and Alex LeConte, Derek Hawkes, Jeremy and Traci Alexander, mostly from Westbrook. He will also be missed by plenty of high school, job corps, and life friends.
He was born on April 7, 1975 and attended Boothbay Region schools. He was an outward bound athlete and a summer camp adventurer including biking caves and the Allagash. He played soccer and baseball growing up and volunteered at Maine Special Olympics. He lived and worked in Gardiner with his most recent employer being Hannaford’s.
He was a friend to most, was gentle, and had a love of the Patriots, superheroes, Egypt, and all the trivia surrounding life – he could remember trivia from anywhere. He was always the player everyone wanted on their teams to win prizes.
BJ traveled with his family to many states including Hawaii, but especially loved Australia. He enjoyed dates and movies with Angie, and watching his son in sports and events at school and at his camp.
Arrangements have been made at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 1-3 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Maine Special Olympics, 125 John Roberts Road, South Portland, ME 04106
