Edgecomb intersections
Dear Editor:
I enjoyed reading with interest about the upcoming but perhaps I’ll timed construction, possible reconfiguration at the Route 27 and Route 1 intersection.
Please publish more illustrations or renderings or visual images so we can better see what work will be done.
As far as Eddy Road, if you increase traffic on Eddy Road, you invite a potential disaster if you allow medium to large commercial vehicles and campers and RVs to navigate this very narrow road with dangerously narrow curves, plus extremely dark at night!
Eddy Road left onto Route 1 invites another operational traffic light in the summer!
The old axiom still applies on Maine roads: Thou Shall Not make any Left Hand Turn tolerable in this State!
At this Route 1 and Route 27 intersection you need traffic lights operational (7 a.m.-9 p.m. summers) and left turn lanes so cars can turn left from Route 27 onto Route 1 South.
Plus another left lane, cars traveling south on Route 1 to turn left onto Route 27 to go “downeast” to Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor!
Lanes and Lights!
Drive Safe my friends!
