Edgecomb planning board OKs 2 applications
On June 3, the Edgecomb Planning Board had a two-part meeting. The board adjourned while discussing a house construction project in the Shoreland zone. Chairman Barry Hathorne reported the board needed to review details from larger maps, but couldn’t locate them in the town office. So an emergency meeting was called for June 4, and the board later conditionally approved Betsy McCandless’ application. The sole conditional is McCandless’ representative Alex Rioux answer eight application questions.
The Nature Conservancy also received unanimous approval for earth moving and filling of more than 100 cubic yards at the U.S. Route 1 location. The third agenda item was for a discussion item regarding “illegal condominium cottages sales.” When Hathorne was asked about the item, he said “No comment. Do not go there.”
The board’s next scheduled meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 17.
