Charles F. Giles II
Charles F. Giles II, 46, of Cambridge, Mass., and Boothbay died June 3, 2013 of complications from a chronic, progressive disease. He was born July 21, 1966 in Concord, Mass., to John R. and Sarah H. Giles.
His early childhood was spent in Lincoln, Mass., and Brownsville, Vt., with cherished summers on the coast of Maine where he enjoyed times with his immediate and extended family and many lifelong friends.
Charlie graduated from Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, N.H., in 1984 where he later served on the Alumni Council and as a Class Agent from 2005 until his death. He always felt a special bond with the school.
In 1988, Charlie earned bachelor’s degree in finance and investments from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. From 1988-1999, Charlie worked in the brokerage business as an Account Executive and in 1999 he established C.F. Giles & Company, LLC focusing on Commercial Real Estate Investments in southern New Hampshire.
With a keen interest in politics, Charlie volunteered for a number of local and national Republican candidates over the years. He had a passion for music and also enjoyed reading, skiing and boating.
He will be remembered as a kind, generous and thoughtful person who always engaged with others with his warm, genuine smile.
He is survived by his parents, John and Sarah Giles of Salem, N.H., and Negro Island, Boothbay and his sister, Catherine Giles Stecher, her husband Scott and his beloved niece and nephew, Sosha and Wilson, all of Andover, Mass., and Negro Island.

A celebration of Charlie’s life will take place on his birth date, Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church, 1 Eastern Avenue, Boothbay Harbor.
