Summer reading program begins with dinosaurs
Most children dig dinosaurs. And most children know more about dinosaurs than most adults do. On Thursday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the Wiscasset Public Library, children and adults alike will have an opportunity to expand their awareness of these prehistoric creatures.
Former Gifted and Talented teacher Georgie Thompson will share her knowledge of dinosaurs in the first presentation of the Library’s 2013 Summer Reading Program, Dig Into Reading.
Thompson taught many years in the Wiscasset school system. More recently she has been the “origami lady.” She has visited the Children’s Room several times to teach the art of paper folding to the children of the community.
The Children’s Room last Story Time of the season will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 20.
This will include planting annuals in the Monarch Butterfly Garden on the Library grounds. School age children as well as Story Time children are welcomed to participate.
