Alna town meeting and elections
Dear Editor:
After a multi-year pause, the Town of Alna will hold its annual town meeting in person Saturday, March 26th at 10am at the Alna Volunteer Fire Department. The warrant for the town meeting can be found in the 2021-2022 town report and on the Town of Alna website (alna.maine.gov) under the “News” link. Elections for 1st Selectman and Road Commissioner will be held the day before the meeting on Friday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Alna Volunteer Fire Department.
Just want to encourage fellow Alna citizens to participate in our town’s lively democratic process by attending the town meeting and, importantly, casting your vote for our elected officials the day before the meeting. Ed Pentalari is running unopposed for 1st Selectman after filling a 2 month term for a vacant Selectboard seat and previously serving as a Selectman several years ago. Like many towns, the COVID pandemic added stress to Alna town government operations. Ed’s previous experience on the Alna Selectboard, steady temperament, and sincere commitment to our community have had a positive impact on our town governance in these challenging times. My experience with Ed is that he is willing to listen and work hard to address needs and citizens’ priorities in Alna. Please consider casting your vote for Ed Pentalari so he can continue to serve the town as 1st Selectmen.
