Edward H. Tibbetts
Edward Harmon Tibbetts, 65, of Boothbay Harbor, Maine passed away unexpectedly in St. Augustine, Florida on April 2, 2022. Ed spent his last days the way he always envisioned his retirement – exploring the eastern coast by camper with his wife Kathy, and his schnauzer Oliver, going to the beach, enjoying happy hours, and singing songs by the campfire.
Ed was a lifelong resident, and beloved community member of Boothbay Harbor, where he owned and operated Atlantic Edge Lobster with his wife for 19 years. Ed was larger than life, able to strike up a conversation with anyone, and always the first to lend a helping hand. Ed enjoyed all the joys of nature that living in midcoast Maine brings – fishing, ice-fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling, especially at Gordon’s camp in Willimantic. Ed loved a good party, especially the annual family cornhole tournament.
He is predeceased by his father Harmon Tibbetts, and mother Gertrude. As well as his brother Gordon E. Tibbetts.
Ed leaves behind his loving wife Kathy, of 44 years; his two sons, Benjamin (Jennifer) Tibbetts of Vernon, Connecticut and Rendall “Randy” Tibbetts of Boothbay Harbor; a sister Nancy Stoddard of Boothbay Harbor; brother Eric (Linda) Tibbetts of Boothbay; the Hyson family, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Also his best friend Gordon (Cindy) Bailey of New Harbor, Maine
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, April 15 at Brady’s in Boothbay Harbor from 3 to 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Edward Tibbetts (a Gold Star brother) to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Boothbay V.E.T.S., P.O. Box 402, E.
