Duke Ellington's birthday is Friday, April 29 and it just so happens that this same weekend also includes International Dance Day and International Jazz Day. The Novel Jazz Septet will be celebrating all three events at the Frontier Café with one birthday party event for the Duke which includes a jazz dance.

The Novel Jazz Septet is a Maine-based group, now in their 18th year of concerts around Maine and New England. Their mission is to share the music and stories of the iconic Duke Ellington and his equally iconic musical collaborator, Billy Strayhorn, who, together, wrote some 3,000 compositions over their musical careers.

For this special birthday party, the music will be all-about dancing … so dust off your dance shoes, pull out your best party clothes and head-on over to Frontier Café. 14 Maine St., Mill 3 Fort Andross, Brunswick at 7 p.m. for a Duke Ellington birthday party.

The party will take place in the large, event space at Frontier Cafe. Tickets limited to 75 people (or 37.5 couples), are $20/person on the day of show or $18/person in advance. All patrons will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in addition to masking upon entry.
