Dear Editor:

This year we have five candidates running for three seats on the select board. We are lucky to have people ready to commit to the time and energy that is required to be a good selectman. I know that Bill Maloney will be making the right choices for Wiscasset in the coming months.

In addition to his primary focus on fiscal responsibility, Bill sees our town as a wonderful place to live, raise children, and also retire. With many new people choosing Wiscasset as the place they want to relocate to, it is important to keep our traditions and character. Change is not always the answer to inconvenience or aging appearance. Bill is someone who moved here because he knew it was a place he would enjoy living, but he didn’t want to make it into the place he left behind. I know he will respect the things that many who live here value, and know that character is not something you create, but instead something you preserve.

Please vote for Bill Maloney, who will make an excellent selectman for our town.
