Handmade quilt among items offered at St. Giles Jefferson Fair July 30
An exquisite multicolored blue handmade quilt is among the items to be offered at the silent auction at St. Giles Episcopal Church annual fair on Saturday, July 30. The fair goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 100 percent cotton, queen-size quilt (80” by 97”) was made by a generous donor, who hopes it will help the church raise funds for its outreach activities.
In addition to the silent auction, the fair, held on the church’s spacious grounds under tall pine trees, will include a raffle, a pie sale, a country cupboard booth, and a garden nook that will offer potted perennials for fall planting, herbs, house plants and geraniums for wintering over, and gardening equipment and garden accessories -- all at reasonable prices.
For children, Giles the church mouse will host a number of activities, including a hobby horse jumping course.
For hungry visitors, a local food truck will provide lunch and snacks.
The church is inviting crafters and other vendors or local organizations to join in the festivities by renting a table for $25, first come first served. To do so, phone 207-549-7872. Leave your name and number if you need to leave a message. After making your reservation, you can send your payment to St. Giles Church, PO Box 34, Jefferson, ME, or drop it off in a labeled envelope at Country Corners in Coopers Mills.
The church is located at 72 Gardiner Road, Jefferson. Partial proceeds from the event go to organizations the church supports, including continued support for the Jefferson Area Community Food Pantry.
