The music of Cat Stevens comes to Lincoln Theater
Come and “Ride the Peace Train” with singer/songwriter Tom DiMenna as he shares classic tunes from the legendary Cat Stevens on the Lincoln Theater stage, Saturday Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. The evening will be packed with nostalgia, storytelling, and fun music. So, get your friends together and experience a night of Cat Stevens’ greatest hits and classic tunes!
Tom DiMenna is a singer/songwriter based in Maine. He released his debut album, "You Know Me, My Devil Says" last year, having written most of the songs while working as bar manager at One Longfellow Square in Portland. He regularly plays at opera houses and local breweries up and down the Maine coast, splitting time doing his own original songs with his touring Cat Stevens tribute act.
"I've been playing since college. where I was a lowly, hand-signaler on the football team. Then I played a year of semi-pro football for the Bologna Warriors in Italy. The experience of quarterbacking an Italian Football team was pretty funny,” DiMenna said. “I spent the next decade working on a movie about it. While developing the script, I took classes at Second City and various other improv schools in Chicago, L.A., and New York. One of the sketches, where I played the ghost of Telly Savalas doing a lounge act, became an Off-Broadway show directed by Taylor Negron. The show ran for a few years before I relocated with my partner, Lauren, to focus on music in Maine.”
DiMenna’s impressive vocal range and guitar style have been perfected with decades of stage performances. He has been entertaining audiences with his tribute show up and down the Maine Coast and now he’s coming to you! This is your chance to see what all the buzz is about. Don’t be shy and feel free to sing along!
