Boothbay Railway Village Museum prepares for another fantastic fall season
The Railway Village Museum prepares for another vibrant fall and holiday season with a collection of community favorite events.
Family Harvest Day, Oct. 1: This fall celebration is a long-standing family favorite featuring classic New England festivities such as hayrides, pumpkin decorating, games on the village green and of course, train rides. The community inspired event will offer reduced museum admission for the entire day. For more information visit RailwayVillage.org.
Fall Foliage Festival, Oct. 8-9 (Sat., 10-5; Sun., 10-4): The 54th annual Fall Foliage Festival returns with a family fun atmosphere, fabulous vendors, fall foods, and great music. Admission is $5 per person; ages 5 and under, free. The event is a fundraiser for the museum and the Boothbay Region Information Center. The long-running event is a crowd favorite, with many getting a jump on early Christmas shopping. The air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and fun is in the air. Interested vendors or sponsors can contact Lori at Lori.Reynolds@RailwayVillage.org Applications are available for download at RailwayVillage.org or for pick up at Iron Horse Antiques + General Store.
Railway SPOOKtacular, Oct. 29: The museum has always taken Halloween seriously, ‘tricking or treating’ thousands of families over the years, and this year will be no exception. Trick or Treaters (in costume) can visit exhibits for candy, play games on the green, and of course ride the spooky train. Local businesses are invited to host a candy table and volunteers and always appreciated. Noon to 4 p.m. Admission $10 ages 4 and over, free for children 3 and under. $5 for members.
North Pole Express, Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18: Mark your calendars for the beloved North Pole Express! This event sells out every year and tickets will go on sale in mid-October. Visit RailwayVillage.org for details.
