And on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m - noon she will be signing books at Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Shop in Rockland, alongside lobsterman Cheri Savage, who will discuss what it was like to work as a co-producer on the film.
The Ghost Trap is the haunting story of a young lobsterman struggling with the grinding responsibilities of a head-injured fiancée and mounting trap wars.
The 2009 novel, published by Leapfrog Press, was discovered by a producer from Khanlarian Entertainment on a trip to Islesboro, and subsequently, was optioned to become an independent feature film in 2018. Soon after, Stephens was tapped to be the film’s screenwriter and served as one of the project's executive producer this past summer.
