Blessing of the animals at St. Giles Oct. 2
In celebration of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, known for his love of all of God's creatures, St. Giles Episcopal Church in Jefferson is holding a special Blessing of the Animals prayer service outside on the church grounds under the pines Oct. 2, at 9:30 a.m.
All pets large and small are welcome, regardless of whether their caretakers are parish members. Rector Dana Stivers will lead the prayer service, and bless each animal present. The celebration is a way of thanking God for the pets that bring so much happiness into our lives. This will be the only service conducted at St. Giles that day.
St. Giles is located at 72 Gardiner Road in Jefferson, a quarter mile west of the junction of Gardiner Road (Route 126) and Bunker Hill Road (Route 213).
