Fall is here and it’s time for the annual cider pressing demonstration at Lincoln County Historical Association’s Pownalborough Court House in Dresden.  Families are invited to the court house grounds from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 to make cider and taste the results from different types of apples. The event is free, and apples will be available, but attendees may also bring fruit from their own trees. Containers for cider will be provided.

In addition to the cider pressing and tasting, there will be a story time and a nature-based activity for children. At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., a children's book written by one of Lincoln County's woman writers will be read aloud, and after that children will build fairy houses.  Home baked treats will be for sale and the court house will be open for tours.

The Pownalborough Court House is located at 23 Courthouse Drive in Dresden. Tours are held from Memorial Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day. Hours are Sat, Sun, Mon, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tours are free for Dresden residents, LCHA members, and kids under 16. Regular admission is $10.
