Recount yields new result: Woolwich re-elects Chadbourne, elects Davis selectmen
According to results Election Day, Nov. 8, Woolwich Selectman Dale Chadbourne won another term, with 1,207 votes; the night’s count also showed Allen Greene keeping his seat, with 724 votes to challenger Thomas Davis’s 720. Davis asked for a recount, town officials said last week. And Monday, the recount upstairs in the municipal building showed a different outcome for the second seat up for election: Davis, 716 votes; Greene, 711.
Fielding questions after the recount, Town Clerk Opal Keith explained Greene has five days to request another recount. Reached by phone Monday afternoon, Greene said he has no plans to.
Monday’s recount still had Chadbourne getting the most votes, at 1,200. The Nov. 8 ballot instructed residents to vote for two of the candidates.
