The editors and readers of Down East Magazine have spoken. The yearly Best of Maine edition is on newsstands, featuring the top spots in the state.

Locally, editors chose Coastal Maine Botanical Garden's Bibby and Harold Alfond Children's Garden as a best place for families. “Spend a blissful day meandering the paths and flowers while your child explores education play areas and hands-on stations,” the editors wrote.

In the Readers' Choice results, the best gallery went to Gifts at 136 in Damariscotta; the best marina went to Gamage Shipyard in South Bristol; the best lobster roll went to Red's Eats in Wiscasset; the best architects and builders went to Knickerbocker Group in Boothbay; the best bargain store went to Renys; and the best bookstore went to Sherman's.

The best used car dealer? That went to Norm's Used Cars in Wiscasset.
