Wallace A. Dodge
Wallace A. “Wally” Dodge, 76, passed away March 11, 2023 at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor after a long illness.
He was born in East Boothbay on May 2, 1946 to William Simerson and Dorothy Dodge and lived there all his life. As a teenager, Wally worked at Giuliano’s Fish Wharf in Boothbay Harbor packing fish. Later he bought his own lobster boat and went lobstering for the next 10 years. He gave up lobstering on his own and worked as a stern man with his best friend, Ernest Morton. Then he worked for Little River Lobster full time.
Every year when freshwater fishing season opened, he would head up north to catch brook trout with his childhood friend, David McKown. Later in years, he would do puzzles with Anna Morton and watch “Gunsmoke” every day with his cat, Chelsea, and good friend, Craig Giles, over and over and over.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, brother Alan, twin brother, William “Bull,” and sister Ann.
