Douglas A. Gallacher, 55, of Andover, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly March 28, 2023.

Doug was born on Nov. 30, 1967, in Evanston, Illinois to the late Andrew and Charlotte (Young) Gallacher.

The outdoors were a place of calm for Doug. He shined brightest on the ocean with lifelong friends and family, boating out to Monhegan or just into town for lunch. Breathing the salty ocean air with an IPA in hand, he could always make a wonderful time for everyone around him. He brought this enthusiasm for community into hosting holiday gatherings with Monica. You could often find him outside during these times stoking a fire for all to gather around. And, of course, he loved his daughters Sophie and Audrey with all his heart.

To his daughters and wife, he passed on his love for hockey and always spent his Thursday nights on the ice with friends. Doug was a dedicated husband, father, brother and son who adored being with his family who he dearly loved and whom dearly love him.

He is survived by his family: Monica Gallacher, his wife of 33 years, his two daughters, Sophie and Audrey Gallacher, and his brother, Ned Gallacher.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, April 3 at the Christ the Teacher Church located on the campus of Merrimack College at 5 p.m.
