Weekly essentrics classes at Merry Barn
When we fully inhabit and care for our bodies, we make space for our creative energy to flow. In this vein, the Merry Barn welcomes Elissa Rioux to teach a weekly Essentrics class.
Beginning on Wednesday, May 3, Elissa, an experienced Essentrics instructor, will bring the secrets of a pain-free, balanced body to the barn.
Essentrics uses gentle full-body movements, focusing on liberating the joints and fascia/connective tissue. In every workout, participants will learn to move with greater ease, gain strength and flexibility. Essentrics improves balance and posture; tones and strengthens the body; and can help relieve pain and stiffness. It can also improve any athletic pursuit, be it yoga, walking, hiking, tennis or golf.
Regardless of the goal, it is a fun and motivating workout for women and men of all ages and levels.
Each class will begin with a deep breathing exercise and end with a slow wind-down. Participants are welcome to gather after class for a cool drink and conversation. Financial assistance is available.
Classes will be held at the Merry Barn Writers’ Retreat, 417 River Road, Edgecomb, from 4-5:15 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning May 3.
