“Due to the heavy rains overnight we are experiencing a number of road washouts,” Wiscasset’s texting service TextMyGov stated in a text shortly before 2 p.m. Monday.

“Public Works is working diligently to get these repaired. Please use caution when driving town roads, particularly flooded areas,” the text read.
