The town of Boothbay Harbor announced the footbridge will be open today, Thursday, June 29 at 10 a.m. The project is not yet complete, but the bridge will remain open from 6 a.m. to dusk daily.
The announcement was made in a Facebook post from the town: “The Footbridge Renovation Project is not 100% complete, however we are happy to report that the bridge is safe and ready to be opened starting today at 10:00 a.m. until dusk daily. We will remain closing it at night for safety concerns until the bridge is fully lit. The contractor will be continuing to work to complete the remaining miscellaneous items (lights, floats, gangway etc.).”
The progress means the Windjammer Days Tug Across The Harbor will go on as planned at 10:30 a.m., according to officials.
