The Garden Club of Wiscasset will have its next meeting Thursday, Oct. 5 at First Congregational Church’s Fellowship Hall, 28 High St., Wiscasset. There is a brief business meeting at 12:30 p.m. with the monthly program at 1 p.m.

Peter Arnold will talk about “Compost and Biochar.” Biochar is a carbon-rich product. Arnold will discuss the basics of compost and Biochar. He is a longtime gardener and GCW member who has researched and studied Biochar. His use of compost and Biochar in his own garden has provided incredible results.

Refreshments follow the program. The public is invited free of charge.
