Still time to sign up for lobster bake
There's still a bit of time to sign up for the Lincoln County Democrats' annual Lobster Bake, Saturday, Aug. 18, on the shore of the lower Damariscotta River in Walpole.
The bake will feature appearances by Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank, invited guest Cynthia Dill, the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Olympia Snowe, plus the local candidates for seats in the state legislature and for county commissioner.
A social hour, with music by Old Gray Goose (a hit at last year's bake), an a raw oyster cash bar, begins at noon. The food line opens at 1 p.m. A lobster dinner, including mussels, corn, salad, dessert and soft drink is $32. A hot dog lunch will be available for $6.
Don't miss this chance to connect personally with the Democratic candidates, in a matchless waterside setting. The exact location of the event is 331 Clark's Cove Rd., just down the road from the Darling Marine Center. Take Route 129 south from Damariscotta, and a right turn immediately after the Wawenock golf course.
To reserve, send a check made payable to "Lincoln County Democratic Committee" to Sandie O’Farrell, P.O. Box 336, Waldoboro, ME 04572, or go to https://secure.actblue.com/page/lobster.
