Planned Main Street taproom, Route One cannabis biz take next steps
Wiscasset’s planning board on Monday night declared Aekeir Brewing’s application for a tap room at 111 Main St. complete and passed the proposal on to Lincoln County Planner Emily Rabbe. Aekeir Brewing owner Jeremy Myers first met with the board Oct. 23. Monday, he said except for a small amount that will be made there, the beer will be “an outlet” for his brewing operation on the Boothbay peninsula.
The board asked Myers Nov. 13 to check with the sewer department about potential discharge. Updating the board Monday, he said he asked and was told an impact fee will be figured closer to when the taproom opens.
The board also passed on to Rabbe the proposal from SeaGrass Group LLC to sell medical cannabis in part of Mad Hatter, 291 Bath Road. Christian Elie of SeaGrass has said its marijuana products and Mad Hatter’s goods, which include pipes, would complement each other.
Also Monday, a Novel Energy Solutions representative told planning board members the firm will provide an updated stormwater management plan and will update the site plan to show dimensions on the setbacks of the array from the property lines and wetlands. Rabbe said if Novel wants a completeness vote Dec. 11, the updates must all be turned in by noon Dec. 4.
According to the discussion and Rabbe’s memo dated Nov. 20, Novel proposes a 1,560-panel solar garden at 277 Gardiner Road. The board set a site walk for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6.
Chair Karl Olson announced 7 p.m. Dec. 11 public hearings on would-be ordinance changes to meet Maine’s LD 2003 affordable housing law; and on proposed solar ordinance changes.
