Room on Zoom for Wiscasset social media workshop
A free session to help community organizations, nonprofits, and small businesses develop or improve their social media marketing strategies will be held in Wiscasset at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12. Although the in-person session has reached capacity, a Zoom link will be provided for remote attendees. This informative session is sponsored by Wiscasset Creative Alliance.
Those who have already pre-registered will meet from 10 until 11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission offices at 297 Bath Road . To register for the Friday morning Zoom call, contact Julee Ketelhut at juleeketelhut@yahoo.com
The discussion will be led by Edgecomb resident Christine Merser, president of marketing company Blue2 Media. “Word of mouth for local businesses is as important, or perhaps more important, than traditional marketing,” Merser observes. “And word of mouth takes place on social media.”
Merser will discuss how community organizations, nonprofits, and small businesses can identify and then achieve social media goals for the year. She will also review which social platforms work best for these different types of entities and will offer advice on structuring posts and communication to attract followers who respond with action. Having designed social media strategies for Fortune 100 companies, political campaigns, and small businesses, Merser is eager to share the lessons she’s learned with the community she calls “home.”
