Virginia Forrest exhibition at First Federal Savings Bank
An assortment of vibrant watercolor works by Virginia Forrest are currently on exhibition at First Federal Savings Bank in Boothbay Harbor. Forrest’s work is shaped by the natural beauty of the Maine landscape that surrounds her. The show will run through October 5.
Forrest is one of the Boothbay art community's favorite artists/instructors. Her work has been included in galleries and showings throughout the midcoast region. Her one-woman shows include Alewives Gallery in Damariscotta Mills, KeyBank, and group shows at the Damariscotta River Grill. Forrest is a member of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) where she exhibits extensively and teaches painting on Fridays in the fall at the.
Whether painting lighthouses, (Burnt Island Light, her favorite, is on display) an old salt water farm, coastal village scenes or flowers from her own garden, Forrest captures the mood with a subtle, but sure touch. Her colors are rich and inviting. Soft washes and light strokes of vibrant color describe the world that she creates within each watercolor.
First Federal Savings Bank is located at 57 Townsend Avenue. Business hours for viewing the BRAF sponsored exhibition are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Forrest may reached at 207-882-7165 and rcforrest@myfairpoint.net, or the BRAF at 207-633-2703.
