Agritourism talk in Alna July 23
The Maine New Farmers Project at University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer a farm visit on July 23 from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. at SeaLyon Farm, 1788 Alna Road in Alna.
Farmers/owners Don and Marcia Lyons will discuss agritourism and lavender production on their farm. Participants will have an opportunity to take a train ride from the farm to the nearby station and back. This event is geared toward people interested in starting a farm in Maine or who have started one in the last 10 years, and the event provides an opportunity to learn important skills as well as network with other farmers and service providers.
The event is free; registration on the program webpage is required to stay up to date. For more information or to request a reasonable accommodation, contact Chris Howard, (207) 944-6391; christina.howard@maine.edu
