Irene Plummer show at CMBG
The exuberant and diverse paintings of flowers by Irene Plummer of East Boothbay are now being exhibited in the Cafe at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens until Oct. 15.
“Flowers are a little peek into heaven”: This series of flower paintings began during Covid when Irene had the time and space for both painting full time and having a fabulous garden. Experimenting with different ways that the presence and beauty of flowers can be conveyed, with color, texture and mood presents varied expressions to be experienced by the viewer. This work has continued and many other paintings can be viewed in the artists studio and gallery space at 72 Courtyard St. in Damariscotta.
Also exhibiting in the CMBG cafe are works by Judith Allen-Efstathiou and Kevin Xiques. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is at 132 Botanical Gardens Drive, Boothbay.
