Linda M. Adams
Linda M. (Ronan) Adams, 67, of Wyoming, Rhode Island, passed away at home peacefully with her family by her side on Aug. 13, 2024. She was the wife of the late Gary W. Shatley.
Born in Concord, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. F. and Ann H.A. Ronan.
Linda was a registered nurse during her working career, working in the operating room at Rhode Island Hospital for orthopedic and spinal traumas, South County Hospital’s operating room and she worked at Kent County Memorial Hospital, starting out in Labor and Delivery before returning to working in their operating room. She also enjoyed working as an operating room traveling registered nurse in Connecticut, Richmond, Virginia, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Phoenix, Arizona.
Linda was very talented musically and had quite a choral career as an alto singer. She belonged to the Choir of St. Peter’s by the Sea for more than four decades, the South County Chamber Singers Choir in Phoenix, the Chorus of Westerly since 2020 having performed in Rhode Island, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and in Europe under the direction of Andrew Howell and in Germany under director Andrew Howell, the Mystic River Choral, in Mystic, Connecticut and with Sinenome, an acapella group in Fall River, Massachusetts.
She is survived by two sons, Samuel L.T. Adams of Wyoming, Rhode Island and Zachary L. Adams of Ashaway, Rhode Island; two sisters, Lisa R. Berke of Wyoming, Rhode Island and Lucile H. Cressey and her husband Leighton of Boothbay Harbor, and her nephew and nieces, Andrew Berke, Lauren Berke, Elizabeth Berke and Megan Donaldson.
Funeral services will be private. A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held in the future.
