Accident in Boothbay
A half hour after a Subaru Legacy crashed down an embankment on the north end of Butler Road in Boothbay, rescue crews were still at the scene.
The driver sustained minor injuries after he lost control of the car, which came to rest about 40 feet into the woods.
Tracy Swenson, 52, of Boothbay was driving north on Butler Road just before 4 p.m. when he hit the soft shoulder and the car went careening into the woods, just missing several large trees, and down the embankment, according to Deputy Justin Drake of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department. His passenger, Cheryl Swenson, 51, was not hurt in the accident. Tracy Swenson was brought to St. Andrews Hospital by the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
The Boothbay Fire Department responded to the accident and the car was eventually hauled out of the woods by a local towing company.
