Wiscasset welcomes Thai restaurant
Thai food lovers will be happy to hear there will be a new place in town where they can enjoy authentic Thai cuisine.
The Golden Thai Restaurant at 65 Gardiner Road. will hold its grand opening Tuesday, Aug. 28, offering traditional Thai dishes in a pleasant dining atmosphere served by a friendly staff.
The new owners, Michael and Odeth Busque, manager Praphan Kaewthong and head chef Anongsith Vira Phondeth are very excited about opening shop in Wiscasset, and they welcome the public to come in and try their cuisine.
Manager Kaewthong is the former owner and chef of the Thai Paradise Restaurant in Brunswick, and head chef Phondeth is the former chef at the Thai Place in Windham; he is also the son of the owners.
“It is going to be a family run restaurant,” Odeth Busque said. Their goal is to build relationships with their customers, and to do that at their grand opening they will serve lunch specials from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. With every one lunch purchased they will give one lunch free. In other words, customers will get two lunches for the price of one, providing they dine in the restaurant. From 4 to 9 p.m. that day, the owners will give free beverages with dinner, and one free soda with each take-out meal.
The restaurant will also offer catering services, and welcome take-out orders. However, they want to welcome the public into their dining room as well, not only to enjoy the food, but also to enjoy the atmosphere.
Their menu will include Thai salads, noodles, curries, vegetarian dishes, and all the traditional delicious Thai food.
The new restaurant’s hours will be Tuesday through Sunday 11 a.m to 9 p.m.; lunch will be served from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. daily.
The Busques live in Readfield but are planning to move to Wiscasset soon.
