A fresh, new exhibit livens the restaurant’s walls as part of The Art at The Damariscotta River Grill series. Opening on Monday, Oct. 28, this exhibition is the result of “The Big and Bold Workshops” taught by instructors Joy Vaughan and Katharina Keoughan. An opening reception will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 4 to 6 .pm. featuring scrumptious appetizers by Chef Rick Hirsch. All artwork is for sale.

The artists in the show range from the beginner to the experienced painter. The paintings began with paint and brush marks and evolved into powerful compositions. For most of the artists this was a new, frightening and exciting way of working. Students were invited to paint loose, paint big, paint bold. What resulted was: creative energy, camaraderie, and wonderful abstracts.

The participating artists include Brooke Pacy, Diana Gallant, Glenda Drum, Caroline Janover, Joan Smith, Kay Miller, Liliana Thelander, Jennifer Litchfield, Maura Melley, Pat McHold, Peesh Rewak McClanahan, Philippa Beal, Phyllis Guss, Donna Zahner, Sharon Sandstrum, Barbara Eldred, Joan Ebberson, Daniele Lambrechts, Barbara Stanley, and Judy Conlan.

The Damariscotta River Grill is located at 155 Main Street in Damariscotta.
