I joined the YMCA in 1987, some 26 years ago, so I could swim. In fact, I bought my house here because of the pool.

Swimming is important to me and I love exercising in the water. I swim at least three or four times a week.

The Y Aquatic staff are so friendly. Swimming can be an isolating activity, however, the staff here engage the members and always have a smile and a hello.

My other passion is ballroom dance and my husband and I have taught classes here at the Y for six or seven years now.

I tell everyone, I can dance because I can swim.
