Voting for Holly Stover
Dear Editor:
I write to enthusiastically support Holly Stover for re-election to continue her exemplary service as State Representative for House District 48, consisting of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Westport Island, Edgecomb, South Bristol, and Southport.
In preparing this letter I wanted to find one word that best describes Holly, and after some effort I hit on what I believe is the best of many. Holly Stover is a gem.
She is of tremendous value to the residents of her district. Born and raised in Boothbay and still residing there today, and travelling regularly to meet the residents throughout her district, she knows the needs of all of the communities she serves and is a stalwart advocate to help them meet these needs, whether these needs be heating assistance, housing, medical services, or just simple acts of kindness.
She is multi-faceted. Holly is the executive director of the Community Resource Council, the director of development for Lincoln County Dental, serves or served on the Boothbay Region Water District and the Boothbay Railway Museum and a host of other community organizations, and can be found on a daily basis helping out at most charitable events throughout her District.
She is brilliant. In her work in the State Legislature, she has sponsored laws and worked to enact laws that will, among other things, help children and their families, provide behavioral health services, protect women from gender based trauma and violence, bring services to treat and prevent substance use disorder, and increase housing.
And finally, she shines. She is a leader with great expertise, experience and knowledge of the issues in her community and in the State of Maine. She makes those around her look better. She meets issues head-on, works with everyone regardless of political affiliation, and she brings professionalism and polish to all that she does.
Holly is one of the finest of gems. Let’s return her to the State Legislature. Please vote for Holly Stover for House District 48.
