Westport Island updates
"Sign, sign, everywhere a sign ..." 'Tis the season for political self-expression! Keep exercising those 1st amendment rights, but please keep in mind that after this election we will all still be neighbors. Exercise respectful discretion when placing signs, and think twice before messing with them as it is a $250 fine per sign. And remember, signs don't win elections, votes do. So come on in to the Town Office to vote early now through Thursday, Oct. 31, request an absentee ballot to have one sent, delivered, or picked up, or I'll see you at the polls at the Old Town Hall at 1217 Main Road on Election Day, Nov. 5 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Dog Licensing: Normally I would be hounding you all to license your dogs right about now, but the state, in their wisdom, has decided to launch a brand new dog licensing system that is chock full of glitches. And their online dog licensing system is also down. If you must license your dog soon, and in person, that's OK, just budget approximately 20 minutes for us to get through it! If you can wait to use the state's online dog licensing system once it's up and running, even better.
Snowmobile registration available now: Be ready when the snow flies to hop on your sled and go! Register online or here at the town office.

For a bag of bulbs and planting instructions, reach out to Mary Denzer at mary-denzer@roadrunner.com with your name, address, and phone number.
