Sunday, Nov. 17 - Craftin' at "The Craft' at 4 p.m. - Get going on your holiday craft projects! Bring your own craft for a late matinee at the cinema! You heard us… grab your kitting, felting, weaving, sewing, drawing, painting or any other personal craft you want to work on while the 1996 film phenomenon "The Craft" is showing. Film synopsis: After Sarah (Robin Tunney) transfers to a Los Angeles high school, she finds that her telekinetic gift appeals to a group of three wannabe witches, who just happen to be seeking a fourth member for their rituals. Bonnie (Neve Campbell), Rochelle (Rachel True) and Nancy (Fairuza Balk), like Sarah, all have troubled backgrounds, which combined with their nascent powers lead to dangerous consequences. The lights will be left on for crafting while viewing the film. Tickets are $10 for adults. $5 for students/youth.
Friday, Nov. 22 - Dances with Ivory at 7 p.m. presents piano selections based on indigenous tribal melodies. The piano is used in unusual ways to achieve ethereal effects, such as strumming inside the body of the piano on the strings and using the pedals in creative ways to pick up the tonal vibrations of native flutes, singing, speaking, and playing the soundboard for drum beat effects. The performance includes native storytelling to illustrate the significance of an oral tradition, a very different way of learning compared to modern schooling. Adult tickets are $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the show and at the door. Youth tickets are $10 each.
Saturday, Nov. 23 - Comedy Improv "Yourville" created by Ryan Gaul and Jeremy Brothers at 7:30 p.m. - A completely improvised comedy show inspired by the characters, events, and history of the area where YOU’RE from! Performed by some of the funniest improv and sketch performers from around the country. In the vein of "Whose Line Is It Anyway." Games and scenes are all inspired by suggestions from audience interviews, local newspapers, and what the talk of the town has been in and around your area!
