“Small Things Like These” - (PG-13; 1 hour, 37 minutes) – Set over Christmas takes place over Christmas in 1985, when devoted father and coal merchant Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) discovers startling secrets kept by the convent in his town, along with some shocking truths of his own. The film reveals truths about Ireland's Magdalene laundries -- horrific asylums run by Roman Catholic institutions from the 1820s until 1996, ostensibly to reform "fallen young women." Adapted from the Booker Prize nominated novel by Claire Keegan. Final shows: Thursday, Dec. 19 at 2 and 7 p.m.
“A Very Merry Christmas Spectacular” - Y Arts presentation - Celebrate the season with the Y-Arts performers as they sing and dance you into the Christmas spirit. You won’t want to miss this festive and heartwarming show full of classic holiday songs and stories. Performed live at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 20. Tickets are $10 general admission.
National Lampoon's “Christmas Vacation” - (PG-13; 1 hour, 37 minutes) - As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. However, things go awry quickly. His hick cousin, Eddie (Randy Quaid), and his family show up unplanned and start living in their camper on the Griswold property. Even worse, Clark's employers renege on the holiday bonus he needs. Playing Friday, Dec. 20 at 2 and 7 p.m.
“It’s a Wonderful Life” - (1946; 2 hours, 9 minutes) - After George Bailey (James Stewart) wishes he had never been born, an angel (Henry Travers) is sent to earth to make George's wish come true. George starts to realize how many lives he has changed and impacted, and how they would be different if he was never there. Playing Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2 and 7 p.m.
“The Polar Express” - (PG; 1 hour, 40 minutes) - A young boy who has grown skeptical of Santa Claus is shocked to see a train stop outside his window on Christmas Eve, destined for the North Pole. When he accepts an invitation from the conductor to climb on board, he embarks on a white-knuckle ride to Santa's headquarters, where he makes fast friends and learns an invaluable lesson about the true spirit of Christmas. Playing for one screening only, Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m.
