“Vernal Pools” will be the topic of the Garden Club of Wiscasset’s next program on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. in Fellowship Hall of the Congregational Church, 28 High St. in Wiscasset.

The Chewonki Foundation Traveling Natural History Programs will help us understand the importance of a vernal pool and how it affects the amphibian and invertebrate life cycles. It is one of the mysteries of nature that a seasonal wetland can be so important to our environment.
