'Jack and the Beanstalk' this weekend
Nearly 500 elementary and middle school students will fill four school day performances in the Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy, Thursday and Friday mornings, Jan. 30 and 31.
Two evening public performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Poe Theater on Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1. Tickets are $5/student and $10/adult. Reservations available by contacting Heartwood: info@heartwoodtheater.org or 563-1373.
Heartwood Theater’s annual winter middle school production is open to all Midcoast students; many young thespians find their love of theater through this program. The four week program provides skill building, increases confidence, and creates a strong ensemble environment in which the sum is greater than the parts. The opportunity to perform for peers, parents, and the public in a theater rigged with full technical elements is significant for these students, many of whom will continue with theater in high school and beyond.
This program is made possible, in part, by: Heartwood’s Season Sponsor, Bath Savings Institution; Season Youth Sponsor, Damariscotta Hardware; and Education Sponsor, First National Bank. Student tickets are available for $5 for every show this season, thanks to sponsors Moody’s Diner and First National Wealth Management.
