Marjorie A. Davis
Marjorie A. Davis, 89, of Trevett, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Feb. 6, 2025, after a period of declining health.
Born Marjorie Anna Lewis on Nov. 28, 1935 to Nellie Curtis, Marge grew up in the Boothbay region. She met Nicholas “Bubs” Ranco and they were married on June 29, 1955.
Marge worked in a variety of roles, ultimately retiring from Boothbay Region Elementary School in 2005, where she was a custodian with her best friend, Lulu (Leila Barter) for a number of years.
Marge’s greatest delight was her family and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and spending time on her back porch, enjoying the sunshine. She loved a good Nicholas Sparks novel and was always up to be a road trip passenger. She could play cribbage for hours and was thrilled with watching her birds, especially the cardinals.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Nicholas “Bubs” Ranco, a second husband Dana Davis, daughter Mary Latter, and son-in-law Brian Rego.
Marjorie is survived by daughter Elizabeth Manson of Trevett; daughter Patricia Rego of East Boothbay; son Nicholas “Peter” Ranco and wife Lori of Stratton; and son-in-law Mickey Latter of Boothbay. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a special nephew, Arnold Thibodeau of Edgecomb.
A memorial service for Marjorie will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Road, in Boothbay. A burial will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in Boothbay Harbor.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services. To share a condolence or memory with the Davis family, visit Marjorie’s Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
