David M. Morton
David M. Morton left this world on Oct. 20, 2024 at the age of 68.
David put up a very brave and 'spirited' battle against the dehumanizing illness known as ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease.
David was born in a house down in Spruceworld, Boothbay Harbor on Aug. 19,1956 to his parents Milan Brewer Morton Sr. and Annetta Belle Morton. He joined six siblings, in no particular order, Bart, Butch, Isabelle, Helen, Ruth and Nancy Morton.
David started lobstering at the age of 12 and he never lost the love for that life, returning to the job he loved many times thru out his life. He also kept Linekin Bay Resort up and running for decades. His very last job that he was forced to give up was driving the school bus for Edgecomb Eddy School, which he enjoyed much more than he ever let on!
David was quite the motorhead in his younger years and has kicked himself in the butt many times for not hanging on to all those muscle cars!
David had three of the best kids in the world, Danny, Kristie and Zack Morton, which, in turn, has led to six of the best grandkids in the world---Nick, Lexi, Luke, Arlo, Zoe, and Vince. They made his life complete.
David and his wife, Kerina, were together nearly 40 years, and to be honest, wanted a few more decades together, but it wasn't meant to be. David always said---Kerina was the best thing that ever happened to him.
This disease, at least, afforded him some time to reconnect with childhood family and friends. Being able to do that meant the world to him.
David kept his sense of humor right up to the bitter end, making us all laugh just minutes before his last breath.
David will be sorely missed. We love you with our whole hearts.
