Twins meet February 10
A snowstorm has brought the Twin Villages closer together.
Sort of.
Following the February 5 snowstorm, the Damariscotta Board of Selectmen will meet Monday, Feb. 10, which is the day same as Newcastle's board.
Damariscotta's board of selectmen will meet at 4 p.m. on Monday and will cover an introduction of a new police officer, an update from Police Chief Ron Young on the speed enforcement effort on town roads, whether or not to sign up with the county's animal control officer and a contract with Lincoln County Animal Shelter.
The Damariscotta meeting, which is held at 21 School Street, will be broadcast on Lincoln County TV. Meetings are open to the public.
Following the Damariscotta meeting, the Newcastle Board of Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. at the Newcastle Town Office on Pump Street. The board will talk about Earthfest, the train service, the capital reserve account and a tentative budget meeting schedule.
The board will also hear from Damariscotta Lake Watershed President John Hartman and Sheepscot Village residents, who will give an update on the signage situation. Richard Simon will also bring the results of the solar feasibility study.
