Attorney General’s visit rescheduled for March 3
The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) rescheduled its meeting with Maine Attorney General Janet T. Mills due to bad weather. Originally planned for February 19, the meeting will be on March 3 at the Newcastle Community room on River Road and begin at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Mills has been Maine Attorney General since 2012 and previously was the first woman to serve in that capacity from 2008-2010. She will address some of the key legal issues facing the state, including Maine’s participation in a multi state effort to overturn the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in “Citizens United.”
Mills, also a former member of the legislature, has a significant record of achievements since being elected Attorney General by the legislature in December 2012 despite the gridlock that sometimes paralyzes legislative action in the face of a record number of vetoes by Governor LePage.
Outcomes of the Democratic caucuses that will take place in all Lincoln County towns on March 2 will also be discussed. This meeting is part of Democrats' ongoing outreach to help constituents stay informed about important issues in the State of Maine.
As is traditional at LCDC meetings, it is requested that attendees bring a contribution of non perishable food to donate to a local food pantry.
