Images submitted by Maine photographers were entered and selected for prizes in one or more of three categories: Color, Black and White, and special theme, Flowers. The Student Category, represented by any Maine photographer 18 years of age and under, was judged separately. Along with his selections, Patterson sent notes about his selections which will be shared during the Invitation Only Awards Ceremonies. The Maine Photography Show awards cash prizes to the first dour places in each category and to an image judged Best of Show.
After the MPS 2014 committee received the list of juror selections on February 8, all photographers were sent notifications regarding the outcomes of their submissions. The next steps for those selected include printing and framing and delivering images according to guidelines set forth by the Maine Photography Show.
